A Place I Love Layout - Cannon Beach

Hi!  Believe it or not my blog is getting some love again, so soon after my last post!  I need to keep this up!  Anyway...I saw on Shimelle Laine's blog earlier this week that she is going to have weekly challenges while she is on maternity leave.  And I LOVE scrappy challenges!  So I basically thought I had two choices, because I LOVE two places the most:  Cannon Beach and Disneyland!  I went with Cannon Beach, Oregon.  I already created a mini album long ago about my son's first trip to the beach, but I decided I wanted to make a regular 12x12 page using some of those same photos.

If you want to see the original challenge blog post:

I actually took a quick pic of my supplies before I got started.  I don't know why, I just did.

Some of these items I had just received from Two Peas in a Bucket.  Actually, most of these supplies I just got in the past week or two!  Dear Lizzy, Studio Calico, October Afternoon (I ended up not using any OA products), some Two Peas Exclusives (I LOVE LOVE LOVE their flat-backed flair, super love them!).  You know, fun stuff like that!

And here is my completed layout!

I have to say, I really like this layout.  I like the wood veneer cloud (Two Peas), the round white and gray letter Thickers (Dear Lizzy), the cork hearts (Studio Calico).  I am not too thrilled though with the cork printed Thickers (the Cannon in the title).  They are not very sticky at all.  I hand stitched them down with some brown floss.  I also added some hand stitching up by the cloud (leading down to the cork hearts).  I added some Teresa Collins enamel dots (not show in the my supply picture), and some papers from Dear Lizzy and Amy Tangerine (6x6 pads, also not shown in my supply picture).

And now I really want to go to the beach!

Have a great day!  Thanks for looking!

Recipe Challenge by Stephanie Bryan

Hi!  My poor neglected blog is finally getting some love today.  This morning I saw on Instagram that Stephanie Bryan posted a challenge.  I like challenges so I thought I'd play along!

Stephanie Bryan Recipe Challenge

I discovered Stephanie Bryan when she became a Garden Girl this year for Two Peas in a Bucket.  I like her style!  Very light and airy, very pretty.  So I was excited to see she had posted a recipe challenge, which are always fun.  Per the recipe: use two photos (found some of my son taken by my in-laws), one wood veneer (I used a Studio Calico heart), one flair (another Studio Calico, the new smaller size), book paper (mine is actually Jenni Bowlin patterend paper that looks like book paper), two alphas (used some Thickers and some brand my husband bought for some abandoned project that I then inherited), and five patterned papers.  I really wanted to use up some old scraps (I have decided I need to purge old scraps much more often), and went with a tan/red/black color scheme.

Here is my layout!

Those scraps of patterned paper are mostly Cosmo Cricket and We R Memory Keepers (a really old Halloween line believe it or not!).  I'm so glad I used up some scraps, that's always a satisfying feeling.  And I enjoyed following the recipe challenge, those are always fun.

Random layouts

Hi there!  So, I haven't posted ANYTHING to my blog in a long time.  I really have been getting a lot of scrapbooking done (well, a lot for me anyway), I just haven't been taking the time to take any pictures of my completed layouts and get them posted.  I think my pictures look much better when I can take them during the day when it is sunny out and I have the curtains open, but there has NOT been any sun out when I actually have the time to take a picture!  I thought I'd look through some of my layout pics I have taken that I posted to Two Peas but never got around to posting here.  But I may be repeating myself for some of them.  Oh well.

I am going to go work on my December Daily album while I'm staying home with my sick daughter today.  Poor kiddo!  But she bounces back quickly, she is usually the least sick family member.  Hopefully when I finish my December Daily album I can get some pics taken and post a few.

Thanks for looking!

Layout - 7th Grade

Hello!  Here is a page I just completed inspired by a Two Peas in a Bucket challenge.

Scrap Your Stash A Boy Collection

And here is my layout:

I used mostly Fancy Pants Trendsetter products, with some My Minds Eye enamel dots, Studio Calico wood veneer stars (which I colored black with some Black Soot Distress Ink), and I can't remember who made the gray paper I printed my journaling on :(  I think Elle's Studio?  I think.  Dang, I don't remember.  I really like it too.  Anyway, I really like journaling in a list format, it is so much easier for me to record info in a list format on my layouts.

A couple of layouts

Hello!  I just thought I'd post a couple of layouts I've finished recently.  Both of them were inspired by Two Peas in a Bucket videos.

Seeing Double Love Daddy

And here are my pages:

For the top layout (my daughter's school picture) I used mostly Fancy Pants Trend Setter products. I love the dark blue with polka dots tag!  On the bottom layout (my son and I out to lunch) I had really wanted to use the Studio Calico stitched pockets, and those two Two Peas in a Bucket exclusive flair.  I love their flair because they're flatter than most other flair I've bought in the past.  They come just flat with no adhesive, unlike so many other brands that come with foam adhesive that makes it stick up a little too much for my taste.  I like to use just one or two glue dots with the flat back flair.  Of course I could just rip off the foam adhesive on other brand's flair.  Ok, that's all I had to share for today, thanks for looking!

She Is 9 - Two Peas Challenge

Hi there!  I am loving the Two Peas in a Bucket Garden Girl challenges!  Here is my latest layout for the In The Mood To Scrap - Photo Tags + Banners.

Find the challenge here:  In The Mood To Scrap - Photo Tags + Banners

And here is my layout:

I used mostly Elle's Studio and Chic Tags products.  I had never bought their products before, and I wanted to try some out.  I used a Hero Arts tag die to cut out the two white with blue polka dots tags that are in my banner.  The paper I used was the packaging insert for the Chic Tags I used on this page.  Gotta love recycling product packaging!  I kind of wish I had used my enamel dots a little differently.  I'm not super pleased with their placement, but I can live with it.  Also was happy to use up a couple stickers from a really really old Pink Paislee sticker sheet (the small section of border sticker in the bottom left corner, and the No. sticker up near the title).  I chose the Elle's Studio paper as my background because the yellow paper with those pointed ovals reminded me of candle flames, and I thought that was perfect for birthday cake pictures!

Ok, thanks for looking!

Hi there!  Just a quick post of a layout I created for Glitter Girls Pattern Picking Part 1 Challenge, found on Two Peas in a Bucket.
